The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the UPSC Principal and Vice-Principal Jobs 2026 notification for recruitment to 828 Principal and Vice-Principal posts in the Education Department, Government of NCT of Delhi. The recruitment has been announced under Special Advertisement No. 51/2026.

UPSC Principal and Vice-Principal Jobs 2026: Age Limit

Principal: 35 to 50 Years

Vice-Principal: 35 to 40 Years

Age Calculation Date: 14 August 2026

Age relaxation for reserved category candidates will be applicable as per the applicable Government of India rules.

Age Limit Details:

For the Principal post, the standard age limit is 35 to 50 years. The upper age limit may be extended up to 55 years for SC/ST candidates and up to 53 years for OBC candidates as per the details provided in the recruitment notice.

For the Vice-Principal post, the standard age limit is 35 to 40 years. The upper age limit may be extended up to 40 years for SC/ST candidates and up to 38 years for OBC candidates.

Educational Qualification

Principal

Candidates should possess a Master’s Degree from a recognized university or institution along with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) qualification. Candidates should also have 10 years of teaching experience as a PGT or TGT as prescribed in the recruitment notification.

Vice-Principal

Candidates should possess a Master’s Degree along with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) qualification. Candidates should also have either 2 years of experience as a PGT or 3 years of experience as a TGT, as prescribed for the post.
