The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has released the NFR Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Notification inviting online applications for 6,777 Act Apprentice posts under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for the training sessions 2025-26 and 2026-27. Eligible candidates who have passed Matriculation (10th) along with an ITI certificate in the relevant trade can apply online from 20 July 2026 to 19 August 2026. Age Relaxation

Age Limit Details

Candidates must be at least 15 years old and should not have crossed 24 years of age as on the closing date of the online application. Age relaxation is available for reserved categories as per Railway Apprenticeship rules.

Educational Qualification

Candidates should have passed Class 10 (Matriculation) with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board along with a valid National Trade Certificate (ITI) issued by NCVT/SCVT in the relevant trade.

For Medical Laboratory Technician (Pathology/Radiology) trades, candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology along with the prescribed percentage of marks. Candidates should ensure they possess all required educational certificates before the last date of application.

Other Eligibility Details

Applicants must possess all required educational qualifications on or before the notification date. The ITI certificate should be in the relevant notified trade. Reserved category candidates will receive age relaxation as per Railway rules. Candidates must upload valid supporting documents during the online application process and produce original documents during document verification.

Stipend Details

Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend as per the latest Government of India Apprenticeship Rules.

• Minimum Stipend: ₹9,600 per month
• Higher stipend applicable for candidates eligible for second and third-year apprenticeship training.
• No hostel accommodation will be provided during the training period.

Selection Process

Selection will be purely merit-based.

The selection process includes:

• Preparation of Merit List based on Class 10 and ITI Marks
• Document Verification
• Medical Fitness Examination

There will be no written examination or interview for this recruitment.
