
Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has released the IOCL Recruitment 2026 notification for recruitment to 470 Executive posts through Computer Based Test (CBT). The recruitment includes Graduate Engineer, Officer (Marketing), Law Officer, Assistant Quality Control Officer and Diploma Engineer positions in different grades. The official notification is dated 14 August 2026, and the online application process has started from 14 August 2026. Candidates can submit applications up to 3 September 2026, 5:00 PM.
The selection process will consist of a Computer Based Test (CBT), Group Discussion (GD), Group Task (GT) and Personal Interview (PI). Selected candidates will receive an initial basic salary of up to ₹50,000 per month, with the Grade A posts carrying an approximate CTC of ₹18.4 lakh per annum.
The recruitment is being conducted under Advertisement No. IOCL/CO-HR/RECTT/2026/01.

The recruitment covers engineering disciplines including Chemical, Civil, Computer Science & IT, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Instrumentation and Mechanical Engineering.
Educational Qualification
1. Graduate Engineer – Grade A
Candidates must possess a full-time regular B.E./B.Tech or equivalent degree from an institution recognized by AICTE/UGC.
Major eligible disciplines include:
- Chemical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Computer Science & Information Technology
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronics & Communication
- Instrumentation
- Mechanical Engineering
For General/EWS/OBC (NCL) candidates, the prescribed minimum qualification percentage is generally 65%, while SC/ST/PwBD candidates generally require 55%.
Candidates with integrated or dual-degree engineering programmes may also be eligible subject to the conditions specified in the notification.
2. Officer – Marketing, Grade A
Candidates should possess:
MBA / Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration equivalent to MBA as per AIU, with specialization in Marketing Management.
Minimum marks:
- General/EWS/OBC (NCL): 60%
- SC/ST/PwBD: 55%
The specialization in Marketing should be established through the degree certificate or appropriate supporting certificate as specified by IOCL.
3. Law Officer – Grade A
Candidates must possess either:
- Graduation in any discipline + Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB), or
- Five-year integrated LLB degree.
The required minimum marks are:

4. Assistant Quality Control Officer – Grade A0
Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree in Chemistry or eligible Chemistry specialization from a recognized institution.

- SC/ST/PwBD: 55%
Eligible Chemistry disciplines include:
- Chemistry
- Inorganic Chemistry
- Organic Chemistry

Other M.Sc. branches such as Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Toxicology, Geochemistry, Pharmacology and Food Technology are not considered eligible for this post.
5. Diploma Engineer – Grade E0
Candidates should possess a three-year full-time Diploma in Engineering in the relevant discipline from an institution recognized by AICTE/UGC/State Board, as applicable.
Disciplines include areas such as:

- Electronics
- Instrumentation
- Fire & Safety
- Industrial Safety and other eligible disciplines specified in the notification.
For most Diploma Engineer disciplines, the minimum marks are:
- General/EWS/OBC (NCL): 65%
- SC/ST/PwBD: 55%
 Work Experience
Post-qualification work experience is specifically required for certain posts.
Law Officer
Law Officer candidates must possess at least 2 years of cumulative post-qualification professional experience as on 30 June 2026.
Eligible experience may include work:
- As an advocate in courts/tribunals
- With law firms
- In legal functions of private/public sector organizations
- In legal functions of Central/State Government organizations
Relevant experience includes litigation, arbitration/ADR, drafting and vetting legal documents, legal opinions, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and regulatory matters.
Assistant Quality Control Officer
The post requires minimum two years of cumulative post-qualification experience in relevant testing, R&D or quality-control work in petroleum, petrochemical, polymer or fertilizer laboratories and/or qualifying NABL-accredited laboratory experience.
Internships, teaching experience, part-time work and short-term trainee projects are not counted as relevant experience for these requirements.

Salary Details
Selected candidates will be placed in the following pay scales:

Selection Process
The selection process consists of:
- Computer Based Test (CBT)

The CBT contains 100 objective questions:

- Quantitative Aptitude – 20 questions

Each question carries one mark and 0.25 marks are deducted for every incorrect answer.
CBT Qualifying Marks
- General/EWS/OBC (NCL): 40% in each section and 45% overall
- SC/ST: 35% in each section and 40% overall
- PwBD: 25% in each section and 30% overall
Merely qualifying in the CBT does not guarantee selection for GD, GT and PI.

Minimum pass marks for GD/GT and PI are 40%. The minimum composite score required is 45% for General/EWS/OBC (NCL), 40% for SC/ST and 30% for PwBD candidates.
Physical Fitness
Final selection and joining are subject to meeting IOCL’s Pre-Employment Medical Examination (PEME)requirements.
Candidates are advised to check the applicable physical-fitness criteria before applying. Diploma Engineers and Quality Control candidates must meet the relevant technical-function medical criteria.

Service Bond

Placement and Job Location
Selected candidates may be posted anywhere in India, depending on the requirements of the Corporation. Placement may be in various sections, plants, units, departments, divisions, establishments, associate companies, subsidiaries or joint ventures of IOCL, and may also include overseas offices at the discretion of management.
Travel Reimbursement
Eligible SC/ST/PwBD candidates appearing for the CBT may receive reimbursement of 3rd AC rail fare or actual fare, whichever is lower, subject to the notification’s conditions.
Candidates appearing for GD/GT/PI may be eligible for 2nd AC rail fare or actual fare, whichever is lower, subject to the specified conditions and distance requirements.
