The Indian performance bike segment has just become more exciting as KTM has introduced new 350cc versions of its popular streetfighter and ADV motorcycles. With the launch of the 350cc KTM 390 Duke, 390 Adventure, the brand aims to offer a more affordable entry point while retaining the core DNA of its high-performance lineup.
These new models will co-exist with the existing 399cc variants, giving buyers more flexibility in choosing between price and performance.
350cc KTM 390 Duke, 390 Adventure Price in India
The newly launched bikes are positioned strategically to attract a wider audience:
- KTM 390 Duke (350cc) – ₹2.77 lakh (ex-showroom)
- KTM 390 Adventure (350cc) – ₹2.81 lakh (ex-showroom)
These prices make them approximately ₹62,000 cheaper than their more powerful 399cc counterparts.
Engine & Performance: What’s New?
The biggest change comes in the form of a downsized engine:
- Engine: 349.32cc, single-cylinder
- Power: 41.5 hp @ 8,600 rpm
- Torque: 33.5 Nm @ 7,000 rpm
Compared to the 399cc engine, this means:
- 4.5 hp less power
- 5.5 Nm lower torque
While the numbers are slightly lower, the performance is still strong enough for both city riding and highway cruising, making these bikes a practical choice for a wider range of riders.
No Compromise on Features & Design
Despite the smaller engine, KTM has ensured that the bikes remain feature-rich:
- Same aggressive styling as the 390 lineup
- Full-color TFT display
- Advanced electronics and rider aids
- Unchanged wheelbase, ground clearance, and ergonomics
This means buyers won’t feel like they are opting for a “lower” version in terms of design or tech.
399cc Variants Continue Alongside
KTM is not discontinuing the existing models. Instead, it has rebranded them:
- KTM 390 Duke R (earlier 390 Duke)
- KTM 390 Adventure S and other variants
These will continue to cater to enthusiasts who want maximum performance.
Price Comparison with 250cc Range
The introduction of these 350cc models creates an interesting pricing overlap:
- KTM 250 Duke – ₹2.17 lakh
- KTM 250 Adventure – ₹2.46 lakh
With a relatively small price jump, buyers may now prefer the 350cc models for better performance, potentially impacting the sales of the 250cc lineup.
Should You Choose 350cc or 399cc?
This launch raises an important question:
Is the extra ₹60,000+ worth it for just 4–5 hp more?
- Go for 350cc if you want:
- Better value for money
- Balanced performance
- Lower entry cost into KTM’s premium segment
- Go for 399cc if you want:
- Maximum performance
- More aggressive riding capability
- Top-spec variants and features
