Vacancy Details
The recruitment aims to fill approximately 731 posts, though final category-wise and post-wise vacancies will be updated on the SSC website.
- Grade C & Grade D posts across various Ministries and Departments
- Reservation available as per government norms
- Ex-servicemen reservation applicable only for Grade D
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must have passed 12th standard from a recognized board
- Stenography skills are mandatory (tested during Skill Test)
Nationality
- Indian citizens or eligible categories such as Nepal/Bhutan subjects, Tibetan refugees, etc.
Age Limit (As on August 1, 2026)
- Grade C: 18 to 30 years
- Grade D: 18 to 27 years
Age relaxation applicable for reserved categories:
- OBC: 3 years
- SC/ST: 5 years
- PwBD: Up to 15 years
- Others as per rules
Application Fee
- General / OBC / EWS: ₹100
- SC / ST / PwBD / Women / ESM: No Fee

Selection Process
The selection process consists of three stages:
1. Computer-Based Test (CBT)
- Total Marks: 200
- Sections:
- General Intelligence & Reasoning – 50 marks
- General Awareness – 50 marks
- English Language – 100 marks
2. Skill Test (Qualifying)
- Grade C: 100 words per minute
- Grade D: 80 words per minute
3. Document Verification
Final merit will be based on CBT scores.
