Airports Authority of India (AAI), Regional Headquarters Northern Region, has released AAI Apprentice Recruitment 2026 notification for engagement of 205 Graduate, Diploma and ITI Trade Apprentices for the year 2026-27. The apprenticeship training will be for 12 months at various airports and establishments under AAI Northern Region.

Eligible Indian candidates who are domiciled in Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Leh Ladakh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand can apply online through the NATS/NAPS portals. The last date to submit the application is 16 September 2026.

Training Duration

The period of apprenticeship training is 12 months (one year).

Stipend Details:

The notification states that the Graduate Apprentice stipend comprises AAI and Government shares, while the Diploma Apprentice stipend also includes a Government share through DBT.

Educational Qualification

Graduate / Diploma Apprentices

Candidates should possess a full-time regular four-year Degree or three-year regular Diploma in Engineering in the relevant discipline mentioned in the vacancy table.

The qualification should be recognized by AICTE, Government of India.

Candidates applying under disciplines such as Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science/IT, Aeronautical/Aerospace/Aircraft Maintenance, Architecture and Mechanical/Automobile must have the relevant prescribed qualification.

ITI Trade Apprentices

Candidates applying for ITI Trade Apprentice positions should possess an ITI/NCVT certificate in the relevant trade from an institution recognized by AICTE, Government of India.

The final place of apprenticeship training will be allocated by AAI.

Selection Process

The selection process for AAI Apprentice Recruitment 2026 will be based primarily on merit in the qualifying examination, followed by verification and medical fitness.

  1. A provisional selection list will be prepared based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
  2. In case of equal percentage, date of birth and thereafter date of passing will be considered for seniority as specified in the notification.
  3. CGPA will be converted into percentage according to the rules of the concerned Board/University.
  4. Shortlisted candidates will be called for Interview/Document Verification through their registered email IDs.
  5. Candidates must produce original documents and submit self-attested copies/soft copies as required.
  6. Candidates must submit a Medical Fitness Certificate at the time of joining.
  7. Final selection will be made after document verification and medical examination.
  8. Selected candidates will receive the apprenticeship engagement letter.
  9. The selected apprentice must sign and accept the apprenticeship contract through the NATS/NAPS portal after joining AAI.

Important: Merely being called for document verification or medical examination does not guarantee selection.

Important Application Instruction

Candidates must register on the respective portal before applying for apprenticeship training in AAI. Only applications submitted through NATS/NAPS will be considered.

Important Conditions

  • The apprenticeship is for training only and does not guarantee regular employment with AAI.
  • AAI has no obligation to provide regular employment after completion of apprenticeship.
  • The apprenticeship contract will cease automatically after completion of the stipulated 12-month training period.
  • The contract can be cancelled in cases of indiscipline.
  • No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
