The recruitment covers 21 Railway Recruitment Boards and 37 post categories across Electrical, Civil/Engineering, Mechanical, Signal & Telecommunication and Stores departments. Eligible candidates can submit their applications online through the official RRB application portal. The selected candidates will receive Pay Level 6 with an initial basic pay of ₹35,400 per month.

The recruitment covers Junior Engineer posts in multiple technical categories as well as Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) posts.
Note: Vacancies are provisional and may be increased, decreased or become nil depending on the requirements of the Railway Administration. The detailed post-wise, RRB-wise and category-wise vacancy distribution is given in Annexure A and Annexure B of CEN No. 04/2026.
Educational Qualification
Junior Engineer (JE)
Candidates applying for Junior Engineer posts should possess a three-year Diploma in Engineering in the relevant discipline from a recognized University/Institution.
Higher qualifications such as B.E./B.Tech in the relevant discipline are also acceptable as prescribed for the particular post.

Depot Material Superintendent (DMS)
For DMS posts, candidates should possess a three-year Diploma in Engineering in any discipline from a recognized University/Institution.
B.E./B.Tech or other higher qualifications accepted under the notification may also be considered.
Candidates possessing more than one eligible qualification mapped to different examination groups can select only one Exam Group and must choose posts corresponding to that group.

The 2nd Stage CBT will have a duration of 120 minutes, while eligible scribe candidates will receive 160 minutes.

Negative Marking
There will be 1/3 mark negative marking for every wrong answer in both CBT stages.

The prescribed relaxation may be provided to PwBD candidates in case of a shortage of candidates against reserved vacancies.
Candidates qualifying for Document Verification will be called based on merit and their options in the 2nd Stage CBT.
Medical Examination
Candidates must meet the medical standards prescribed for their opted post. Depending on the post, the applicable medical standard may be A-3, B-1, B-2 or C-1.
Candidates declared medically unfit for the opted post will not be offered an alternative appointment.

- Create an account using a valid personal mobile number and email ID, or use existing RRB credentials where applicable.
- Select only one RRB carefully.
- Enter personal, educational and other required details.
- Select the appropriate Exam Group based on your qualification.
- Select eligible posts and give the required preference for Railway Zones/Production Units.
- Complete the live photograph capture through the application module.
- Upload the signature in the prescribed JPG/JPEG format.
- SC/ST candidates seeking free train travel facilities should upload the prescribed caste certificate.
- Pay the examination fee through Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card or UPI.
- Carefully check all information before final submission.

- Keep the Registration Number and login details safe until the completion of recruitment.
Important: A candidate can submit an application to only one RRB. Multiple applications to different RRBs, or multiple applications to the same RRB, can result in rejection of all applications and debarment from future RRB/RRC examinations.
