Dear all vtiger enthusiasts,

We at the vtigress team have always been trying to make the life of vtiger users (administrators and customers as well) easier.
Our tools (vtDZiner, iDZiner, QuickImport plugins, vtDebug) have helped many business owners to automate their business on vtiger to a large extent.

Since vtiger is mostly and popularly used with Linux/CentOS based operating systems, we wish to help you further by automating the process of creating a new vtiger instance whether it is for purposes of testing, trying out new things, checking out a new feature etc.

Presenting a shell script to automate the process of creating an new vtiger instance in a few seconds.

1. Vtiger CRM Source Tar = /var/www/sources/vtigercrm-5.4.0.tar.gz
It assumes that /var/www/sources/vtigercrm-5.4.0.tar.gz exists and is the 540 install
2. APO = www-data
It also assumes that www-data is the Apache Process Owner
3. Webroot = /var/www
Content of the file
if test -n “$1”
echo “Will setup vtiger crm in $1”;
rm -rf /var/www/$1;
mkdir /var/www/$1;
cd /var/www/$1;s
tar -xf /var/www/sources/vtigercrm-5.4.0.tar.gz;
mv /var/www/$1/vtigercrm/* .;
rm -r /var/www/$1/vtigercrm/;
chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www/$1;
cd /var/www/$1;

if test -z “$1”
echo “Folder name not specified : usage sh $0 <targetcrmfolder>”
Just save the new file as and execute as

sh newcrm
Please feel free to mail if you need more help.

Thanks and best
vTigress team
